Woolen diapering items are very low maintenance, but eventually everyone has to wash and re-lanolize. Lanolin is what gives wool its waterproofing properties and lanolin emulsifying soap is specially formulated to allow the lanolin to blend with your water to make your lanolin bath milky and effective to absorb to your woolie.

We officially recommend using the unscented bars with scented lanolin, or scented bars with unscented lanolin-- but you are welcome to experiment to create your own scent blends. Scent descriptions can be found here.

PACKAGING: Due to customer requests, and our desire to reduce the amount of plastics we use, we have moved to a zip-top bag style.  Customer found that they are able to reuse the zip-tops to store their pre-cut slices of bars.  We also added back our fabulously cute 'Sheep Shape' bars in select scents.

The average user has found that a quarter of an inch will emulsify 1 US-tablespoon of lanolin:  If your water is harder, you may need slightly more; If your water is softer, you may need less.

LANOLIN LEVEL: HIGHEST - This product does not contain any lanolin on its own, HOWEVER it is designed to be used with our solid lanolin, to soak your woolens for the highest waterproofing ability.   Most commonly used with upcycled and knit woolens.  Interlock users tend to only use for night diapering.

INSTRUCTIONS: When it's time to lanolize, simply wash your woolies with our lanolin-free wash to remove all dirt and urine salts and then rinse well. Then prepare your lanolin milk and bath.

To create lanolin milk: fill a mug full of VERY hot water, add a tsp of solid lanolin per item, and a small shaving or sliver/chunk of one of these hefty 3.2oz emulsifying bars, then stir until milky. It doesn't take much of the bar to emulsify, often just a quarter of a square per tablespoon of solid lanolin!

Fill a container big enough to fit your wool with clean warm water to make a bath. Allow your prepared lanolin milk to cool to approximately the same temperature as your bath. Add your lanolin milk to your bath, stir then add your wool and let sit for 15 mins to an hour.

Remove your wool and let it dry!

FOR WOOL USE ONLY.  DUE TO HEAVIER FRAGRANCE LEVELS THESE SOAPS SHOULD NOT BE USED IN THE SHOWER OR BATH. LIKE ALL LAUNDRY PRODUCTS: KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.

*Scents designated with a "*" contain vanilla and will naturally be a darker color than other scents.  This is normal and expected.  We do NOT use artificial color stabilizers in our emulsifying sheep or bars.
